PocketGym (formerly Spotter) Terms of Use
PocketGym (formerly Spotter) is operated by Quarterdeck Collective LLC. These terms are the agreement between you and Quarterdeck Collective LLC for using PocketGym. If anything here is unclear, email business@quarterdeckcollective.com.
What PocketGym is
You save a link to a fitness video. PocketGym reads what is publicly attached to that video — the caption, the description, and where those say nothing, the audio or the words on screen — and turns it into a workout card you can follow and log. It also gives you a weekly plan, a progress view, and a coach called Pumpy who can build workouts out of what you have saved.
PocketGym links to source videos and shows the platforms’ own players. Files you choose to upload and source material used for supported AI reads may pass through temporary storage, as described in the privacy policy. PocketGym also includes an exercise bank, workout edits and swaps, reminders, and optional Apple Watch, widget and Live Activity features on supported Apple devices.
Your account
You need an account, and you must be at least 13 years old to have one — the same age PocketGym’s privacy policy is written around. One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself, and keep your personal save key private: it works without a password, which is the point of it and also the risk.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account. That erases your cards, sessions, plan, collections and chats, permanently, and first cancels any older web subscription bought through Stripe. Apple and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled separately in the store; deleting an account or uninstalling the app does not cancel those subscriptions.
PocketGym Plus
AI reading and coaching have per-account daily and monthly usage limits. PocketGym’s shared service allowances can also pause new AI work, including on paid plans. Saved workouts remain available. A subscription does not include unlimited AI requests.
PocketGym Plus is an optional paid subscription that raises the limits on the free plan. It renews until you cancel it. Native app purchases are processed by Apple or Google Play, with RevenueCat validating subscription access. PocketGym stopped selling subscriptions on the web on 18 September 2026; older web subscriptions were processed through Stripe. PocketGym does not store your payment-card details.
- Monthly or yearly. The price you see on the plan screen at the moment you subscribe and confirm with the payment provider is the price you pay, in the displayed currency. The U.S. standard price is $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Applicable taxes and local pricing are shown by the payment provider.
- Trials and offers. A trial or discount applies only when it is shown and confirmed at purchase. Availability and eligibility can differ by store, account and offer. The purchase screen shows the trial or offer duration and the price charged afterward. Cancel before a trial ends if you do not want it to renew into a paid subscription.
- Cancel any time, from Settings → Plan → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Plus keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account returns to the free plan. For an Apple or Google Play purchase, manage cancellation in that store. Nothing you saved is deleted — your cards stay in your library and stay readable, whatever plan you are on.
- Refunds. Apple and Google Play handle refund requests for purchases made through their stores under their refund policies and applicable law. For older web subscriptions, payments already taken are not refunded in part when you cancel partway through a period, except where the law where you live requires it. If something has gone wrong, email business@quarterdeckcollective.com.
- Prices can change. If the price of a plan you are on changes, you will be told at least 30 days in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal, not before. You can cancel in the meantime.
- PocketGym may change what the free plan and the paid plan include. If a change removes something you are paying for, it takes effect at your next renewal.
How you may use PocketGym
Save links you found yourself, for your own training. Do not scrape or automate the service, do not resell access to it, do not try to get around the limits on your plan, and do not use it to attack anyone or anything. PocketGym’s servers are small and shared, and the daily limits exist so one account cannot take the day away from everybody else.
Only submit links, captions and files that you have the right or permission to use and process through PocketGym. Public availability by itself does not grant rights to someone else’s content. Respect the source platform’s terms and the creator’s rights.
AI processing is optional and requires your permission. You can turn it off in Settings and continue logging and planning manually. Review AI-generated exercises, instructions and proposed changes before using them. Pumpy changes your library only after you confirm.
Videos and the cards made from them
The videos belong to the creators who made them. PocketGym’s cards are derived from what those creators published publicly, and a card is a summary of exercises, not a copy of the video. You keep whatever you write yourself — your notes, your logs, your corrections.
If you are a creator and you want a card made from your video taken down, open an issue at the issues page saying which video it is, and it will be removed. That page is the contact point for copyright complaints until there is a formal one.
Creators. You can ask us to remove a card’s link to your post from PocketGym’s shared cache: email business@quarterdeckcollective.com with the post’s link.
PocketGym in ChatGPT
This section applies when you use the PocketGym plugin inside ChatGPT. The rest of these terms still apply, with the points below.
- What the plugin does. You share a link to a public workout post, and ChatGPT shows the workout as a card. ChatGPT writes the card from the post’s text, and PocketGym checks it against that text and against its exercise catalog. You do not need an account.
- ChatGPT is OpenAI’s service. Your use of ChatGPT is under OpenAI’s terms. We are not responsible for ChatGPT, for what it says outside PocketGym’s cards, or for whether it is available.
- Share only what you can share. Share links to public posts and text you have the right to use. Public availability does not give you rights to someone else’s content. Respect the platform’s terms and the creator’s rights. Do not use the plugin to scrape PocketGym or the platforms in bulk, and do not try to get around its daily limits.
- Cards are information. A card is training information, not medical advice. Cards can be wrong: a post can be unclear, ChatGPT can misread a screenshot, and the check catches many errors but not all. A card made from text you shared, or adjusted by ChatGPT, is not checked against the original post and says so. Check a card before you train, and see the section on medical advice below.
- Creators’ content. The workouts belong to the creators. A card is a summary of exercises, not a copy of the video. It credits the creator and links to the original post. PocketGym does not copy or host videos, pictures or audio. Creators can have cards and card pages made from their posts removed: email business@quarterdeckcollective.com with a link to the post, or use the issues page.
- Card pages. A page is made only when you tap the button. Anyone with its link can read it. Do not make a page from text you should not share. We can remove any page at any time, and we remove one when you or the creator asks.
- Nothing is sold in ChatGPT. The plugin shows no prices and sells nothing. The plan terms above apply to the PocketGym app only.
- Availability and limits. A platform can stop us reading its posts at any time, and the plugin has daily limits for each person and each platform. When a post cannot be read, the plugin says so and asks for the caption or a screenshot. We can pause reading from any platform, or turn the plugin off, without notice.
- Age. You must be 13 or older.
How we handle data in the plugin is in the PocketGym in ChatGPT section of the privacy policy.
This is not medical advice
PocketGym is training guidance, not medical advice, and neither PocketGym nor Pumpy is a doctor, a physiotherapist or a coach who can see you. Exercises are read out of videos made by other people and may be wrong, unsuitable for you, or unsafe for how you train. If something hurts, stop, and see a professional. Talk to a doctor before starting a new programme, especially if you are injured, pregnant, or managing a condition. You lift at your own risk.
Availability
PocketGym is offered as it is, with no promise that it will be available, correct, or free of faults. It runs on services other people operate and reads platforms other people control, so features can break without warning — a platform blocking access is the most likely reason a save will fail. Where the law allows it, PocketGym is not liable for losses arising from using it, and any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to what you have paid in the previous twelve months.
Ending this
You can stop using PocketGym and delete your account whenever you like. PocketGym may suspend or close an account that is being used to attack the service, to break these terms, or in a way that is plainly not personal use. If that happens to a paying account for a reason that is not your fault, the unused part of the period is refunded.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Illinois are where any dispute is heard.
Changes and contact
If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and the app says so. Continuing to use PocketGym after that means the new terms apply. For anything at all — a question, a complaint, a takedown — use the issues page.
